Are We Living In Simulation

Written by vengreat

What if everything is around us the people, the animals, the mountains are part of the simulation? What if we all of us are characters in some kind of video game?

These questions sound like a familiar concept from science fiction books and films, including the 1999 movie “The Matrix.” But some physicists and philosophers say it’s possible that we probably do live in a simulation, even if that means casting aside what we know (or think we know) about the universe and our place in it.

If you have knowledge of physics ( Newtonian and quantum), in our daily lives we observe something weird in nature. Here I am going to give you my opinion regarding those weird things.

Most we heard that the universe consists of galaxies, stars, planets even molecules, atoms particles are created from Big Bang ( As per Big Bang Theory ) but we don’t have proof of this theory. We don’t know how is this universe gets created because we are bounded with some limitations like we are stuck in 3-dimensions, we can’t see the fundamental particles etc. Are these limitations applied by nature? or maybe someone who created us (God) don’t want us to understand the architecture of the universe.

I know it sounds weird but I have explained some points which makes us confused. If you have knowledge about some other planet, you know it doesn’t have life on it because of its atmosphere. Now think in terms of mathematics, if the universe is created by Big Bang ( according to Big Bang Theory) there were billions of star’s, planets got created.

There is a probability that some same planets gets formed. Now think about the earth, there is the rarest probability that the atmosphere gets balanced on it to have a life. There may be 2, 10, 100, 1000 similar planets like earth gets formed.

What is mean by earth have the rarest probability and all? Now we go towards our periodic table, the total number of elements known to us till yet is 115, these are fundamental elements. You can imagine how many compositions can be formed, they also have their isotopes.

If you count the number of components can be formed from these elements is too high and there may be some elements exist that we don’t know yet. Maybe the Big Bang Theory is true, maybe the earth has the rarest probability to have a life on it.

Then what thing’s made me think about simulation. Now we focus specifically on earth. The earth has air which is a composition of numbers of gases ( By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen, 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapour, on average around 1% at sea level, and 0.4% over the entire atmosphere ).

The minimum oxygen concentration in the air required for human breathing is 19.5 percent, you can see such a small difference is there. Nitrogen reacts with oxygen at high temperature and the percentage of nitrogen is more in air. You can see if the intensity of radiation from the sun got increased then life on earth can not be possible. Another thing is that to balance the percentage of oxygen on earth trees are there. Now to protect us from UV radiation there is an ozone layer. Is it a coincidence?

You may have heard about Deja Vu. Deja vu is the feeling that one has lived through the present situation before. For example, if you are visiting a place that you saw never before, but you like you have already visited that place, this is what Deja Vu effect.

Most of we feel this effect at least once in our life. Most of we play games on a computer or on a mobile phone, when we lose the game we get back to the initial level, then that game character sees that game level, again and again, it is same as like of deja vu effect. Now imagine you are playing a game and place yourself into that game character.

The game is a universe for that character which is programmed by us. In case of us, this universe can be a set of programs coded in some supercomputers and handled by someone. But it is just a theory so most of the scientist don’t believe in it. Not everyone is so convinced by the hypothesis.

“Is it logically possible that we are in a simulation? Yes. Are we probably in a simulation? I would say no,” .

“In order to make the argument in the first place, we need to know what the fundamental laws of physics are where the simulations are being made. And if we are in a simulation then we have no clue what the laws of physics are. What I teach at MIT would be the simulated laws of physics,” he said.

said Max Tegmark, a professor of physics at MIT

The funniest thing I have found that even if we are living in a simulated world handled by aliens or gods, they are simulating us in such a way that we are thinking about the simulation. This thought makes me think that we are living in a planet having the rarest probability to have a life.
